4 Freezing Days!

Right after our gorgeous weekend, we got hit with a major ice storm.  The early morning of Tuesday (February 1st) the grounds of North Texas were covered in a layer of ice and the temperatures were not going to reach above freezing for days.  We were basically trapped at home.  We then got 7 inches of snow on Friday morning, so basically a layer of ice covered in snow!  During that time we played with every single toy in the house (literally), did some crafts, watched a bunch of movies (including Ice Age), worked on potty training, and got some good quality family time.

The good news is Jake did really well on the potty, he stayed dry for most days.  Ford decided he still prefers diapers (which is suprising since he does not like to be dirty).  We still have a ways to go, but we got a good start.

February 4th, we woke up to . . .

Since we got snow (not just ice), we got to play outside.  It wasn't great packing snow, but we still made a little Red Raider Snowman and a lot of snow angels.  Jake actually started making snow angels before we told him what to do.  I guess it is just instinct!  He also enjoyed just rolling around on the ground - I guess he has a love for the cold.

Ford says:
* "I just farted in my mouth" for a description of a burp.
* As he was watching Jackson do his business outside in the snow, "Look, Jackson is making a snowman"

Jake says:
* "More MEATBALLS please" in a loud crazy voice as we were eating spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.  It was more funny how he said it than what he said.
